The effects of soybeans have been studied extensively. In laboratory, animal studies and research looking at groups of people and their dietary habits, certain chemical components of soy have appeared to show protective effects against breast and prostate cancer.
AICR has researched soy and the cancer-fighting components it contains. The studies reveal soy to inhibit the growth of prostate cancer cells in a variety of laboratory conditions. Soy has also been associated with the inhibition of breast cancer cells in some, but not all, laboratory experiments.
